1952 Ford COE Ratrod WelderUp Style

I have been thinking about this build for a few years. Every time I get a random part that seems correct, it goes in the bin. Well I finally decided to pull it off the back burner. This will be a 1952 Ford COE Ratrod build styled off one built by WelderUp. I am not copying it exact, since they used a GMC and I am not sure I can re-create it all exactly. However, the feel will be very close.

Here is what I have so far. I was able to get the body done this weekend! Really happy with my progress in mold making. The key is figuring out a way to have them match side to side as well as all the parts line up right out of the mold. Subsequent builds are a breeze once you put in the hours of work making the molds.

Made a little more progress today. Roof, hood cowl and some primer. Still need a lot of filler, but it?s not too bad.

Added in the cowl and some primer. Spent some time revising my drawing and getting ready to mike the hood and fenders. That is when it really will come to life.

Got one fender complete and one really close. Going to take a break on this to try and finish the Coronet. The COE has been on the back burner for a few years what?s another few weeks.

Got the fenders squares away for the COE. I needed to not waste some space on the vacuum table so figured this was a good choice.

I made a little progress while waiting for the Coronet to dry. There is a mold under the blue tape, but that was a pretty straight forward piece. The one I am working on now is the hood, which requires multiple pieces glued together and several relief cuts. Once I have the basic shape I can start adding in the curves.
