The glass is in now. Took a few attempts to get it to bend nicely but wasn't too bad- it's easier if you leave the screens too wide so you have something to grip on then juat slowly massage it.

The rear side windows attach from the outside (thanks for the heads up Lem) and I've used a little solder to make a mini latch.

I've also printed some interior bits. Rather than doing it all as one I've done the components seperately and attached with styrene. Hopefully this will allow me to get the maximum possible depth (not a lot) from the m06.

I've also found a Sand Scorcher/Blitzer Beetle driver fits almost perfectly, right down to wheel placement and design.

Time for some more sanding...

Edit: please forgive the finishing on the driver, the Blitzer Beetle was my first adult RC. Need to order another figure...

It's me again.
Just too cool.
Fantastic job on the glass and I can't believe just adding it, How much greater it looks with it in.
I think you should definitely use a Driver. ......Perfect fit.
I have seen other Driver configuration's on Ebay too.

Just a super awesome little car.:luv:::bigdrool::bigdrool

The glass looks very nice and clean! How thin was the material? Is it formed just by bending while gluing it, or is it heated up to keep the shape?

Thanks Beers!

Thanks! I think it's 1mm lexan. I do bend it first- have to use glues that won't mist it and they don't have the most grabbing power (either canopy glue or shoo goo). I don't have a heat gun though so just have to do the bending really slowly.

What a beauty!

Thanks!

Ok, many sands later... interior is painted and ready. I had to raise the height a little because of the upright servo in the tub, and there's no driver for now as everyone is out of stock.

However, I think it's come out quite nicely. Very happy with the colour and the clocks!

First post on the new forum... hope this works...

Last few details are on- wipers, driver's mirror and SBG tax disc. I believe it's finished (?!?) At least until I find some nice scale road suitable stickers. Oh, I'll probably change the wheels 500 times too.

Here are some garage pics, now I need to get it outside... when the rain stops...

Thanks again all for following along and to Lem for the amazing design work!

Oh, I meant to say- these details are all printed- I was slightly surprised the wipers came out usable, thought I'd just copy them in styrene but with some careful filing/knifing (?) they're pretty clean.

Here's the mirror assembly, I used a short piece of solder as the connecting rod:

What a crazily randomly awesome car to choose to model. Did he have anything to say on how he chose it? It's one of the best printed models I've seen.
Yes!! Well he used to own one!

And he's done a lot of 3d models for racing games- this is one. I don't know how much he ported across or whether he recreated it from the ground up, either way it is excellent!
