It's me again.
Just peeking in again.
Was a hoot to start at the first of this thread and file back threw all the efforts my friend.

Just saying..........::2thumbs

Hahaha thanks Ron for the interest, what is even crazier is this thread does not even have all the early tribulations of chassis, with the aluminum rails, and the CC01 axle with the watt's linkage and too long links. Or the origami paper chassis test :laughing: So I guess I can't really say it is my first custom build since it is more than one build in a way lol

Thanks again for looking, appreciate it!

I think I saw a youtube video of someone painting this body, with the separate rear part. I like the squareness of the front fenders (a bit more accurate than the RetroRacing one) but it has the same issue with front doors windows being a bit too small vertically (or I should say the trimming is much to big so it makes the window smaller). That's the reason I cut out the windows on mine. Thanks for the share!

I'm working on making a nice outside run video, now that the body is all painted. Need to find a mate to film while I make my best at driving :) Now sure how I will be able to capture nice views since the car is going pretty fast when doing the nicest slides with lots of body motion. With a good camera with an acutal zoom (and not an iPhone) it should help capture crispier video.

I too will be watching for the vid. ::2thumbs

Just an Idea...
I found a correct threaded bolt to fit my camera way back when....and rubber cemented it to the top of my TX (controller).
Id just attach the camera to it, then flop on the ground or on something to help steady things up while driving,
But my vids are lousy too so ya.....
just an Idea on how a guy might can go about filming with a camera by him self.

In case some of you have not seen the first versions of this build, I fixed all the early stage pics that are in the first page of this thread, and added some comments (the original text of the early posts before I knew SBG existed was lost when scale4x4rc went down, but I still had the pictures). Looking back, some of the pics of the first chassis were pretty cool looking, even though they did not match the Escort much. They looked more like some custom hotrod :laughing:

Looking forward to the vid! I use a tiny tripod, tricky as the speed increases though

Yeah! I did a couple vids but they are no better quality than the last ones I made so I did not upload them. I'd like the next video to be the nice final one! I think someone with a steady hand, zooming in and tracking the car correctly will have the most chances of making a nice scale looking video. The speeds required for a nice drift in this car are pretty high! A hairpin turn is easy, but not as nice as far a suspension dynamics and all..

This should work ok if I try to just grab a fairly wide view of the car running in the park, but I'd like to see the car closer and well defined, see those suspension moves :)

I tried something similar to what you describe for some indoors slower speed runs and was unable to do something nice enough. Well it was not all that similar since I was using a stick duct taped to my Iphone on one end, and to my arm on the other :laughing:Maybe that could be the reason it was not that nice! hahaha

Hopefully my RC mate and I will be available at the same time soon to do this video!
