I feel like a total newb reading this thread. I struggle to bolt together diy kits, and here you are making this custom stuff.

My mini me has been long overdue for upgrades since the 1:1 has new roof rack and rtt. Made this arb flat rack out of solid tube brass and aluminum plate for mounts.

Looking nice! The solders looks very clean and silver color, given the extensive brazing you have done on the chassis I guess this too is brazed, right? The color looks similar to regular solder (electrical) and it does not look like it received a lot of heat, I guess it is because silver requires less heat? Whenever I braze something it looks like it went to hell and back, with the lava marks and everything. Yours look quite nice :)

The roofrack is made of brass and you can’t braze it coz it will deform and melt. I used solder paste and torch not the mapp gas. It requires low heat. Yup braIng gets a little dirty but cleans good too. This is what i used for soldering brass.

Strong enough but i don’t let my trucks roll over especially this one lol

I fully understand that. The only one I can stand to see a roll over is the JK. I'm specially careful with the Unimog and the M548 does not roll over, pretty much impossible :)
