Just hoping that someone out there has some info on how to weld aluminum? I am looking to build some custom parts for my "Betty" crawler and I have some aluminum stock but need help with the welding or joining some parts.

you are able to get aluminum brazing rod to braze it, or you could take it to a metal shop and get them to weld it up

I have never brazed aluminum before, but I don't think it works very well.

Keep in mind, if you do decide to braze it it melts at a very low temp, I forget the exact number but a mapp gas torch will melt it.

Do you have the set-up to weld it?

Check out "TM Tech" on the web. The tin man has books, and classes how to oxy-fuel weld aluminum. Alot of great info for a reasonable cost.

You need Castolin 21 decapant stream or equivalent, aluminium intake and a bi gaz( O2+acetylene or C4H10(butane)) torch
